New Bikes

January 30, 2008

I just started on some new frames: a 29er for myself and an XC race bike for a nice and fast guy named Shawn Mottram. I’m pretty excited to finally have a 29er of my own, and the race bike for Shawn should be very fast and fun. Both frames will be using True Temper OX Platinum tubes for the main triangles and Columbus tubing for the rear.
Here is a BikeCAD drawing of my 29er:

Over the last couple months I’ve started working with Mickey Denoncourt in the resurection of Spooky Bikes (spookybikes.com).
The first Spooky model available (now) is the Spooky Kittenpaste- a do whatever you want road rig. Fast but utilitarian. They are going to be sweet. I did a good portion of the design work with Mickey and they will be available in three sizes or for a little extra $ fully custom. We are also trying to work it out so that whatever braze-one/cable routing you want will be to order.
Well, our first batch of three is done and they look real nice!

I recently finished this alignment table that can be clamped to any rigid surface. Wow!

I used a piece of channel steel, reinforced the back and milled the top surface on a CNC machine.
